Who are we?

Tinto Orienteering Club was formed in 1987 to serve the needs of orienteers in the Lanarkshire area, particularly around Lanark and Biggar. Tinto is a small family orientated club with members of all standards.

Child Protection Policy

The Protection of Children (Scotland) Act 2003

The Act states that ‘anyone who works or volunteers in a child care position must be Disclosure Scotland checked’. This means that all organisations, including sports clubs, are legally bound to have all coaches and other volunteers who work with or coach their juniors must have a Police Disclosure carried out.

What is orienteering?

Orienteering is a challenging outdoor adventure sport that exercises both the mind and the body. The aim is to navigate in sequence between control points marked on a unique orienteering map and decide the best route to complete the course in the quickest time. It does not matter how young, old or fit you are, as you can run, walk or jog the course and progress at your own pace.
