Who are we?

Tinto Orienteering Club was formed in 1987 to serve the needs of orienteers in the Lanarkshire area, particularly around Lanark and Biggar. Tinto is a small family orientated club with members of all standards.

We have many people whose main aim is to get out into the fresh air and see some of the countryside but we also have provided many Scottish and British internationalists. Our members take part at our local events during the week and some travel further afield to other club events, national or international events. The choice is yours.

In 2007 Tinto celebrated its 20th anniversary and our trademark event is the Tinto Twin event. This event is a two day competition which is held in October each year. It is a night and day competition as the first part of the event is on a Saturday night and the other part is on the Sunday morning.

The club runs regular local evening events in spring and autumn which usually have a short course suitable for families and beginners and a more technical long course.
