The 28th Tinto Twin takes place at Firpark, Newbigging and will be held over the weekend of 24/25 October. There will be a welcome return to the original format of the TT with both Night and Day events being held at Firpark. This is the first time the area has been used for a large event since 2007 and will feature a newly updated map. Competitors will be able to compete for the Tinto Twin Trophies by running in their age class at both events. Entries will be available via OEntries. Please note summer time will end on Saturday 24 October and the clocks will go back one hour overnight.

The area is a combination of mixed woodland, young plantation and rough open fields. All courses will encounter each of these.

Details of the pre-event information

Directions:

Newbigging Village is on the A721 East of Carnwath, South Lanarkshire. If Travelling from Edinburgh, follow the A702 south to Dolphinton. Approximately one mile south of Dolphinton turn right onto the A721 signed Glasgow. Continue through Elsrickle village to reach Newbigging where you will turn right to the event. Travelling from the west, take the A73 to Carluke and then follow the A721 signed Peebles. Stay on the A721 through Carnwath and Kaimend and arriving at Newbigging you will turn left in the village to the event.

Competitors who wish to be contenders for the Tinto Twin Trophies should enter the course related to the their age category otherwise enter the course of your choice.

TD5 Short - 3.1 km 40 m - M70, M70+, W16, W55, W55+
Light Green - 3.0 km 30 m - M14, W14
Dark Yellow - 2.4 km 20 m - Open

TD5 Medium - 5.8 km 50 m - M16, M55, M60, M65 and M21S, M35S, M40S, W18,W20, W40, W45, W50 and W21S

Orange - 3.3 km 30 m
Yellow - 2.9 km 25 m
